I am a Certified Sleep Consultant, the Founder of Let There Be Sleep, LLC., a Licensed Family Therapist; the mother of two boys. I have been in your shoes. I was an exhausted and frustrated parent who had tried everything. I was afraid my child was never going to sleep through the night. As a first time mom of a “spirited” boy with colic, I struggled to get my son to sleep more than an hour or two in a row at night. During the day he would only nap while being held. I saw no relief in sight. I was not able to truly enjoy being a mom. Instead, my life revolved around trying to get my son to sleep and taking cat-naps whenever I could.
In my desperation I tried an online sleep site. It was like throwing money out the window. They had a "cookie cutter" approach suggesting everything I already tried. Then a colleague recommended her Certified Sleep Consultant. The Sleep Consultant was so helpful and truly changed our lives. In just under two weeks my son went from waking every 2-3 hours at night to sleeping 11-12 consecutive hours at night as well as taking ninety minute naps by himself. It was absolutely amazing! I couldn't believe how much better I felt and how much more I enjoyed being a mom. I wanted to tell every tired parent how, they too, could get a good night’s rest. So, after sleep training my second son, I decided to become a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant myself. And "Let There Be Sleep, LLC" was born.
Being a Pediatric Sleep Consultant is the ideal position for me. I am able to combine my knowledge and skills as a Family Therapist with my experience as the mother of two boys in order to help families get the sleep they deserve, so they can enjoy being a family.
In addition to completing the Family Sleep Institute's rigorous 250 hour Certification program I earned my Master's in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. I also earned my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and New York. I have over 15 years experience working with families and children of all ages as well as children with special needs.
